Pont l'Abbé

Architectural beauty and Bigouden culture

The charming town of Pont l'Abbé is just 10 minutes from the campsite, and provides visitors with an interesting change of scenery, with its charming houses and elegant monuments. Here, the Atlantic Ocean ventures inland to bathe the town with peaceful waters, adding even more charm to the landscape. While you are staying on a campsite pitch or in rented accommodation on the campsite, it is easy to make a visit to Pont l'Abbé.

The town has some unusual sights, such as Barons du Pont Castle, which has been converted into the Town Hall and a museum about Bigouden culture.

Enjoy Pont l'Abbé and all its riches

Pont l'Abbé also has a marina that was a centre of trade from the 18th to the 19th century. Feel free to take a stroll along the waterside, since it is a great way to recharge your batteries, while discovering the simple beauty of the quays. The town is a great place to go shopping, too, with a large number of varied shops and boutiques.

Walk down the streets of the town at your own pace and browse the souvenirs, local products, etc.

Shopping in Pont l'Abbé

The little streets of Pont l'Abbé contain a whole host of boutiques where you can discover Bigouden fashion - with the famous boots and striped jerseys, but also decorations.

The gallery windows display paintings, photographs and sculptures in a beautifully aesthetic setting

The same goes for the arts and craftsmen and women, who exhibit their work every Thursday morning in summer in the castle courtyard.
A walk along the river helps to sooth shopping fever and provides a moment of relaxation as you see and hear the many species of birds nesting on the riverside.

After the walk, the boutiques with Breton specialities, with its aromas of Breton cakes and kouign-amann are sure to draw you to them like a magnet.

In July, around the 14th, is another highlight in the Pont l'Abbé calendar, the Embroideress Festival.
