A campsite committed to sustainable tourism in Brittany

A controlled environmental impact
At Camping de la Torche, in Brittany, respect for the environment is at the heart of everything we do. Every gesture counts, and we are proud of our eco-responsible initiatives to preserve this exceptional natural setting.

Waste reduction

  • Donation box: Give your objects a second life! By joining the ‘zero waste' movement and the circular economy, we are helping to limit the consumption of raw materials and energy.

  • Compost and recycling: Our organic waste feeds our chickens or enriches our compost, and all our green waste is fully recycled.

  • Limiting packaging: The bottles in the bar are returnable, and we encourage our guests to bring their own containers for snacks.

  • Zero waste workshops: We can teach you how to make your own cosmetics or cleaning products, so you can save on packaging, unnatural chemicals that are harmful to your health... and money too!

Saving water

  • Rainwater harvesting: The water collected is used to rinse the wetsuits, water our flowers and maintain the garden.

  • Optimised showers : Thanks to an innovative wristband system, we can rationalise our water use. See our tutorial to find out more.

Protecting our environment

  • Ecological cleaning products: We use Ecolabel or Ecocert labelled products to protect nature and your health.

  • Chemical-free green spaces: No pesticides or chemicals are used to maintain our green spaces.

Renewable energy

  • Part of our energy is produced on site thanks to our wind turbine (up to 12.5 kW for self-consumption) and our 105 photovoltaic panels.

  • 100% of the electricity consumed comes from renewable sources.

  • A recharging point for electric vehicles (double 16A socket) is available in the car park.

Energy saving

  • Sustainable household linen: Our sheets and towels are washable but not ironed, to save electricity and preserve textile fibres.

  • Washable underblankets: By reducing the use of disposable products, we are considerably reducing our waste.

Preserving biodiversity

  • Permaculture gardens: Enjoy our shared vegetable gardens, bioclimatic greenhouse and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

  • Wildlife habitats: Insect huts, nest boxes and hedgehog shelters encourage biodiversity.

  • Educational activities: Children learn about the environment through fun workshops (recycled objects, treasure hunts, etc.).

Local and sustainable development

  • Local products: We work with local producers (mini-market, bar suppliers), run a vegan food-truck and offer workshops on wild plants and seaweed cooking through our Bigouden partners.

  • Organic grocery: We offer as many zero-waste, organic and local products as possible in our convenience store.
