Our campsite in Brittany is sensitive to its environmental impact.
Waste reduction
- A donation box is available at the entrance of the campsite: give, don't throw away! This initiative is part of the "zero waste" movement and the circular economy. Using objects again reduces the consumption of raw materials, energy and natural ressources.
- We recover organic waste for our compost or to feed our chickens.
- We limit our waste and packaging: the best packaging is the one that is not consumed!
- All our green waste is 100% recycled
- At the bar, our bottles are returnable and for snacking, please bring your own container to avoid throwing packagings
Saving water
- We collect rainwater and reuse it to wash the wetsuits, to water the flowers and the garden.
- We have a water saving system in the showers with a wristband system. You can have a look at our video.
Protecting our environment
- We use eco-labelled products for cleaning
- We do not use pesticides or chemicals for the maintenance of the green areas
Renewable energy
- Our equipment enables us to produce more than a third of the energy we consume (a wind turbine and 105 solar panels).
- The wind turbine can produce up to 12.5 kW for self-consumption
- 100% of our electricity is from renewable sources
Camping equipped with charging points for electric cars
- We have a charging point for electric vehicles (20A) next to the wind turbine
- We also have a charging point (double 16A plug) in the car park at the entrance of the campsite
Energy saving
Our ecological approach is reflected in all aspects of our campsite; every gesture counts and this is why our linen (sheets and towels) is not ironed. This consumes electricity and destroys the fibres. We prefer to preserve these resources as long as possible. We thank you for your understanding and kindness.
Biodiversity
- We have permaculture gardens and greenhouses as well as several mini gardens on the campsite. They serve as educational tool for younger generations (school groups, gardening activities with children in summer...).
- We invite you to consume locally and to favour seasonal fruit and vegetables.
- We have set up insect huts, hedgehog huts and nesting boxes.
Animations
- We offer DIY Zero Waste workshops
- We make children aware of our environmental approach (treasure hunt, workshops with recycled objects, etc.)
- We offer activities rooted in our rich Bigouden region : local produce, vegan food-truck and discovery wild plants to promote local products.
